Thanks, Lisa. For me, it was simply easier than trying to sit at home regularly -- and continues to be. I hope it works out for you as well. Thanks for your encouragement, and may your practice be strong and fulfilling.'

I'm glad you shared your motivation to come to Appamade for morning zazen. Surely I can make that shift, too! It will be a real challenge, since it means rearranging my whole day, from rising till bedtime, and messing with my finicky sleep cycle.....but knowing that YOU did it encourages me to make that commitment!

Joel, it was nice to meet you this weekend at the intensive. Thanks
for your hard work behind the scenes not only this weekend but as a board member.
I hope to see you again. What a weekend!

Appamada is not just the occasional mindful thought or attentive state of mind, it’s actually a commitment to being attentive. It’s more than just a meditative state of mind, it’s more than just being mindful. It has to do with that primary ethical or moral orientation we have in life, with which we bring into being whatever activity we’re engaged in. Whether in formal meditation, in our interactions with other people, in our social concerns, or in our political choices, it’s the energetic cherishing of what we regard as good.
